“Having Erin as a doula gave me the tools and support to have the most incredible birth experience I could have ever hoped for. Erin was there for me to answer endless questions, to offer wisdom and compassion to me during tough parts of the process and she was there holding my hand and helping me bring my baby into the world all while helping me advocate for myself, making me laugh and comforting me during the moments I thought I couldn’t deal with. I know with 100% certainty my birth experience would have been much different without Erin and I could not recommend enough that if you are going to go through this intense and incredible life-changing experience that Erin is the only person I would ever recommend doing it with. she brings so much experience as well as The exact personality you need by your side during that birth experience. I will forever be grateful to Erin for all she has done for me and my family. “

“We’re so glad we found Erin for our first birth! Within minutes of meeting, we knew she’d be a great fit for us - like a friend we’d known for years. Her presence is both comforting and commanding. She’s the kind of person you want steering the ship, but also the friend you’d invite over to share a pint of ice cream or a good bottle of wine (after pregnancy of course!).

Our text thread and prenatal/ postpartum visits were invaluable, especially because my visits with my OB were 10 minutes tops, but with Erin we spent hours as her sole focus - talking through all of the pregnancy minutiae and postpartum mountains. She encouraged us to talk about the hard things, cry when it felt right, and really take care of ourselves. (Thank you for the incredible massage and the delicious soup, Erin!!)

I don’t believe I would have had an unmedicated birth at a hospital without Erin’s support. She was a great motivation and source of encouragement as I embarked on my Hypnobabies journey, and when we met in the delivery room she made me feel grounded, safe, and in control as she coached me and guided our baby into this world. “Erin the midwife” should be her next undertaking!

Thank you for everything, Erin!”

“Hiring Erin as our doula was THE best decision we made in our pregnancy journey. She is not just a doula who will help you through the physicality of labor. She is also part therapist, part baby Wikipedia expert, and part friend who will show up for you and make you feel seen and cared for during some of the most painful, vulnerable and raw moments of your life.
My husband and I were first time parents who knew next to nothing about having a baby. I was also hoping to use medical interventions only as needed, so I was looking for a doula who could help with pain management, as well as emotional support. From the very beginning, Erin was generous with her time. A few weeks before my due date, she spent several hours getting to know us, answering our questions and helping to make a birth plan. From that point forward, she was always just a text message away. When I went into labor 2.5 weeks early, she was our first call. She helped me labor at home and at the hospital unmedicated until 6 cm dilated. When I decided to get an epidural at that point, she supported me in my decision. At no point did she ever make me feel ashamed, judged or rushed. Her massage techniques, breath work and emotional support were my lifeline during labor. At one point, because of covid protocols, I had to choose between having Erin in the room or my husband. I chose Erin. When we were able to reunite, she also supported my husband, keeping him company during hours of labor. After the healthy birth of our son, one of the first things my husband and I said to each other in the recovery room was “thank God for Erin.” A few days later, she came over for a postpartum visit and went over the birth with us, which was really cathartic. She also gave me a massage that helped ease postpartum pain. Finally (in what is a truly underrated aspect of her services), she texted us every day to check in and answered tons of our questions about baby care, breastfeeding etc. I don’t know what we would have done without her.

Forget baby clothes and other registry items. Hiring Erin is the best money you will spend during your pregnancy. We would work with her again in a heartbeat!”

Erin was indispensable during our labor and delivery, and a constant support as my husband and I considered our options and made decisions through the process. She was also available with lots of advice, answers to my questions, and recommendations (e.g. places to get prenatal massage) during my third trimester. And since our daughter was born, Erin has continued to be there and checks in with me to see how we are all doing - both me, my husband, and baby girl. Throughout it all she has been very thoughtful, knowledgeable and kind. I’m so glad to be able to stay in touch with her as we continue on our parenting journey and in the future, potentially continue to expand our family!

“Erin was amazing during my pregnancy and postpartum. She kept me grounded throughout the entire 9 months. Every time I felt overwhelmed or anxious I would talk to her, and she would know exactly what to say to calm me down. Not to mention how professional and passionate she is, Erin made my second pregnancy experience so much better. She made sure I had everything I wanted during my section, and she went out of her way to bring me food/snacks to help me recuperate faster. I couldn’t recommend Erin enough to anybody thinking about hiring a doula. She is the best!”

“Being a first time mom, I was really nervous about giving birth and unsure about how best to prepare myself on an emotional, physical, and spiritual level. I had gathered books, podcasts, and reading materials on the birth process, but the one piece of advice I kept seeing the most was to hire a doula. Initially, I was hesitant because I was convinced that I could prepare for the birth through my own research, but I soon learned that there is nothing that can compare to the hands-on, dynamic support that a doula provides.

Although I had not been actively looking for a doula at the time that I found Erin, I knew that I wanted her as my birth doula after just a few minutes of talking in our first meeting. She assured me that even though there were only a few weeks left in my pregnancy that there was a lot that could still be done to help prepare for the birth. During our virtual consultation, Erin was professional and kind; her clear explanation of our journey together was reassuring and she answered all of my questions about the weeks leading up to the birth, the childbirth process itself, and what to expect postpartum.

Throughout our experience together, Erin offered constant care and support in countless ways. Prior to the birth of our son, Erin helped prepare my husband and I by encouraging journaling and reflection and she shared tools to use during labor including massage. In the weeks leading up to the birth, Erin worked with me to determine my birth preferences and helped to ease my anxieties about labor and what to expect. She also shared books and materials and made herself available at all times for any questions or concerns I may have had.

I am so grateful to have had Erin by my side once labor began; she kept me calm and focused and took notes and communicated with doctors and nurses to make sure my needs were met. Erin made sure I was comfortable throughout labor by providing massage, verbal encouragement and affirmations, and she even brought items to help create a calm and soothing physical environment. She was also an integral part in supporting my husband during labor and made sure he was rested and worked closely with him to support my needs.

After our son was born, Erin’s postpartum visits were essential in ensuring my mental, physical, and emotional health were on track. She provided items for postpartum care and recovery and provided the kind of care and support every person should experience after giving birth. Her regular check-ins via text were so thoughtful and helped to extend our incredible journey together. We could not have asked for a better birth doula experience and I am so thankful that we found Erin and that she was a part of this momentous occasion.”

I had a home birth in November 2020 and Erin was there to support and take photos. She was extremely supportive.

She helped my husband with what to do when he felt overwhelmed, assisted my midwife, and stood by my sisters side and educated her when she was getting anxious with how my labor was going.

She was there for me and my family in ways I didn’t think I’d need!!!

Also, I am sooooo happy she took photos! She was taking shots of moments I don’t remember at all. I am so grateful for her and I am really glad I trusted her to be there with me and my family.

If I were to have another baby I’d be having a home birth again and Erin will be the FIRST person I call!!!

“I decided to hire a Doula for a number of reasons. First, I wanted to ensure my husband and I had the freedom to focus on the experience of welcoming our first child into the world, rather than being sidetracked or distracted by all the unknowns and the anxiety that can bring. I also knew I wanted to stay with my OBGYN, which means I would have a hospital birth, so I wanted an additional support person with a perspective from outside the medical community. And finally, as a woman of color, I wanted to ensure I had an advocate to work on my behalf and take care of me and my family during this vulnerable time.

I knew that if anyone would stand up for me and protect my birth experience, it would be you. Your warmth and assertiveness are very comforting.

Knowing you were in my corner gave me the confidence to truly lean into the experience of giving birth while letting go of a lot of my anxiety. You also never made me feel bad or less than for any of my choices, preferences, or birth circumstances. This was especially helpful when my breech baby wouldn’t turn, and I needed a c-section. With so many people taking pity on me and acting like somehow c-sections were a 2nd class birth, it was so very comforting and empowering to have you maintain the same level of excitement that you had previously while still leaving room for any feelings of disappointment I might have. It felt like you gave me permission to mourn the birth I’d hoped for, and then get pumped for the birth I was about to have. It was so much easier to acclimate to the idea of a c-section with you as my cheerleader and supporter through it all.

Especially during this pandemic when visitors were not allowed at the hospital, it was great to have you come, bring food, take pictures, and talk through my birth experience. And even though I didn’t get to see you the day of the c-section, having you meet us there in the morning and then drop off food later was so lovely. It made the process feel a lot less clinical in general.”

“I am so lucky to have found Erin. I am a first time mother who struggled for years to get pregnant, and had some anxiety about various possibilities and outcomes. I needed extra support to help to ground me, comfort me and assure that our baby boy got here safely.
While I had always envisioned a natural, unmedicated birth, circumstances were such that I needed a c-section. And in fact, I started to feel more comfortable with one after weighing the various possibilities for my specific complications. Despite my birth plan looking different than I had always imagined, and even beyond how I thought a doula could or would be willing to support me, Erin made sure to lend her support where I needed it the most. She helped me to get outside and breathe in fresh air. She guided me through breathing exercises and meditations. Most importantly, she never looked down on me for needing to experience my pregnancy in my own way — there was never any pressure or judgement. She was always willing and able to adapt to my unique needs — both pre and post partum.
When you have the pleasure of meeting and working with Erin, you just know you made the right decision. She is comforting, nurturing, and knowledgeable. She is firm in her resolve and knows what it takes to support her parents. Am so grateful to have found her.”

“I didn’t think I wanted a doula - I’m a pretty private person and just felt like that path wasn’t for me.  I thought they were more tailored to someone wanting an at-home, water birth, no drugs, etc.  All of that is great but I am not she.  My birth plan was to get the baby out and for both the baby and me to be safe.  I was also pregnant during the height of Covid and was nervous about inviting anyone into the very small circle of me, my husband, and my dog.  Additionally, I suffered from depression (for the first time in my life) during my pregnancy and had/have a pre-existing condition that heightened my anxiety around embarking on such a great physical task.  Luckily, fate landed me in front of Erin’s information.  I’m so glad I listened to that little voice inside that said, “you’re going need her.”  She has been a gift from day one.  She’s a wealth of knowledge and if she, herself, doesn’t have an answer (i.e. lactation consultants that are trusted in your area, car service companies that have car seats to take you home from the hospital, etc) she reaches out to a contact who does and is able to point you in the right direction in 2 seconds flat.  She is a kind, non-judgmental, and supportive coach, advocate, and friend.  She was an amazing sounding board regarding everything from the physical to the spiritual - and this motherhood transition will take you every which way and back again 5 times.  I learned things from her that I wasn’t learning at my OBGYN appointments and felt better prepared and less anxious because of it.  She made me feel like I could get through anything, one step at a time - and I absolutely did.  Her care postpartum, too, was something I didn’t know that I would need so badly.  She was able to meet us at our apartment when coming home for the first time from the hospital to help transition this new life into our new home.  I had no idea how MUCH I would also feel like a new life transitioning into a new home and having her there was more helpful than I can possibly convey.  In a time where I wasn’t able to have community, she was mine and I can’t stress enough how valuable it is to have someone like her in your corner when taking this journey.  She’s truly my pregnancy angel.”

”When we decided to hire a doula for postpartum support we really didn't know what we would need in terms of specific services. We're so thankful that we were able to have Erin as our postpartum doula. From the very beginning Erin was professional, knowledgeable and encouraging. She is responsive to your needs and proactive when it comes to the support you require on your postpartum journey. It can be difficult to articulate or realize what support you need when you are caring for a newborn. Erin was able to assess our needs at each appointment and jump right in with everything from cleaning and organizing to general baby care and baby wearing support. She also made us a fantastic pasta dinner which is a real luxury as new parents on minimal sleep!

Erin was a wonderful sounding board for explaining my birth experience (which was more complicated than I anticipated) and was able to help me decompress. For our first few sessions she gave me a massage and helped to talk me through any anxiety I was feeling. I didn't even realize this was something I needed and was really helpful in my postpartum journey. We were also able to run errands and get work done while Erin took care of our baby. She is very nurturing and developed a bond with our baby which made us feel comfortable taking those first steps towards being away.

We are so grateful for the multifaceted support Erin provided our family and highly recommend her services. If you're thinking about hiring a doula, do not hesitate to contact Erin!”
